I am glad you enjoyed it. There is no reason that American's should know of Mothering Sunday. Most people in the UK only know of Thanksgiving because of movies, and Britain has many very old festivals! But I find it interesting Mother's Day in each country has such a different origin.

I'm struck by the image of young women working as domestic servants and looking forward to a trip home on Mothering Sunday.
It is rather sad in a way, as previous generations would probably have lived closer to home.
