It was great fun, and since the wines were bought at auction, there were often some unusual wines in the selection. The club was named Kottabos, after the Ancient Greek wine game. After dinner the participants would hurl their dregs of wine at a small target. Ancient wine had more deposits in it, so it was easier to throw, but it must have made a mess!

This was another great read. I love recipes as a connection. My wife still has her mum's notes on making stew and dumplings, and I have my grandma's flapjack recipe written on the back of an old cookbook with an old phone number.

Thank you, I am so glad you enjoyed it. It is so good to have recipes from family - I think they often exchanged recipes on bits of paper, which are sadly often lost.
